Painter/Drywall Technician (with light maintenance):

Join the expanding team in our new state of the art 132-bed behavioral health facility!

This full-time opportunity offers 40 hours per week with full benefits.

Prairie St. John's has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, intensive outpatient services, MAT and supportive housing. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 5,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.

Painter/Drywall/ Maintenance Job Duties:

  • Patching/Painting/Drywall: Repair any wall damages as well as repainting surfaces. Must have extensive drywall experience, including required wall repairs/prep.
  • Helps maintenance team with scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, painting, and troubleshooting/repairing repair ticket items.
  • Assists with carpentry projects performing simple carpentry tasks like repairing doors, windows, or cabinetry.
  • Door hardware replacement/repair: replace or fix door handles, locks, hinges, and other hardware.
  • Plumbing: minor service, repair, or replacement.
  • Electrical: minor service, repair, or replacement.
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills

Qualifications

*Must have at least one year of professional painting experience

*1 year of drywall experience

*Previous experience as a maintenance technician in a healthcare setting preferred.
