Job Summary:

VSolvit is seeking a Mid-Level Network and Computer Systems Administrator to provide Information Technology Engineering and support services to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team supporting an enterprise-level application in a mission-critical Navy environment. The position involves configuring, maintaining, and optimizing IT systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and security. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical issues and resolutions are essential to success in this position.

Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and modifies web applications systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs
  • Ensures that programs can be integrated in the applications systems
  • Resolves complex problems with existing applications systems
  • Assists in implementing new applications systems
  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project
  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Communicate regularly with team members via Microsoft Teams & MatterMost/Slack
  • Work with stakeholders to understand desired application capabilities
  • Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and continuity-of-operations processes
  • Support user account management, access control, and security compliance activities
  • Have some experience in configure and manage cloud-based services such as Microsoft Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or hybrid cloud environments
  • Maintain security accreditation documentation
  • Develop custom software or code, as applicable, to enable and enhance functionality
  • Provide system operations support, as needed, to recover from production bugs and system issues
  • Provide programming and technical support to create software revisions and releases necessary to maintain system security requirements and software change request resolution

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 10 years of relevant engineering experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant engineering experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Network and Computer Systems
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services (Azure, AWS) and hybrid deployments
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Ability to identify, document, and communicate technical issues and solutions
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
  • United States Citizenship required
  • Able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge / experience in Java (J2EE & JSF)
  • Oracle experience (Database, WebLogic, Enterprise Manager)
  • Experience with Web Enterprise Application
  • Experience with Web Servers
  • Experience in Red Hat 8
  • PrimeFaces
  • Eclipse IDE
  • Visual Studio 2019
  • Visual Basic .Net / C# .Net 16.0
  • MS Access 2016
  • Windows 10 / 11 / Server
  • Prior DoD systems experience.
  • Experience with process improvement methods.
  • Prior DoD IT systems experience
  • Familiarity working in an Agile team environment
  • Experience with designing, implementing and managing cloud infrastructure and services (AWS or Azure) strongly desired
  • Familiarity with DevOps Practices a plus
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certifications a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills
