Payroll Assistant - PR0825 Sanders Brothers Construction is currently seeking a Payroll Assistant to support the Company's payroll process. This position will work with our Payroll Manager to assist with processing payroll and activities supporting that process. In this role, you will have an opportunity to learn the Company's entire payroll process, have a positive impact on all members of our team and prepare for the next step in your career. Responsibilities Update payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc., and data concerning compensation increases, promotions, and/or transfer of employees between departments. Track record of computing wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy, and posts to payroll records. Process wage increases, update 401k deduction changes, update employee records, update direct deposit/banking information. Review electronic timekeeping systems or manually collect and review timesheets. Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions. Preparing and issuing earnings statements. Upload electronic paystubs into the Company's employee paystub portal and managing direct deposits. Coordinating with the HR Team to ensure correct employee data. Providing administrative assistance to the accounting department. Providing information and answering employee questions about pay-related matters. Qualifications and Education Requirements 2-4 years of payroll experience. Experience in the construction industry (preferred). Experience in Microsoft Office. Strong analytical ability. Effective time management with high attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as a team with strong interpersonal skills. Must meet SBCC's employment standards regarding background checks and drug test policy prior to hire and maintain throughout the term of employment.
