Systems Administrator IV

(Video-Teleconferencing System Administrator & Support)

Systems Administrator IV is responsible for maintaining VTC System Administration & Support to provide enterprise-wide support for our Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) infrastructure. This role typically involves tasks such as configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software, implementing security measures, monitoring system performance, and providing technical support to end-users. Systems Administrator IV often guides of other system administrators and plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of VTC systems within the organization.

Job location:

Hybrid, with weekly onsite workdays in Herndon, VA or Washington, DC locations

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Systems Administrator IV: $120-130K

Pay commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and support enterprise VTC systems (production, disaster recovery, test, and development environments).

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for VTC services, including ordering, scheduling, and coordination across the agency.

  • Serve as a liaison with agency video facilities service-wide, ensuring seamless coordination of VTC operations.

  • Provide on-site and/or remote operational support for VTC facilities in Washington, DC (MIB) and Reston, VA or other areas within the agency's facilities.

  • Perform routine system administration tasks:

    • Comply with Service Level Agreements and security protocols.

    • Create, edit, and monitor scheduled tasks.

    • Manage users (add/delete/role assignments).

    • Monitor system performance and conduct tuning as needed.

    • Identify, report, and analyze anomalies.

    • Assist with Tier 1/2/3 support issues.

    • Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

    • Configure and maintain systems for auditing and logging.

    • Perform patch management and vulnerability mitigation.

  • Create and maintain end-user training documents for new systems.

Systems Administrator IV Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • A bachelor's degree in CS or relevant field is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in related domain.

  • Administer, monitor, and support enterprise VTC systems (production, disaster recovery, test, and development environments).

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for VTC services, including ordering, scheduling, and coordination across the agency.

  • Serve as a liaison with agency video facilities service-wide, ensuring seamless coordination of VTC operations.

  • Provide on-site or remote operational support for VTC facilities in Washington, DC (MIB) and Reston, VA or other areas within the agency's facilities.

  • Perform routine system administration tasks:

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Polycom Certified Videoconferencing Engineer (PCVE) or equivalent certifications.

  • Experience with Web-Suite or similar conferencing scheduling/management tools.

  • Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
