What success looks like in this role:
Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management: Architect, deploy, and manage AWS-based infrastructure solutions, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CLI to automate provisioning, management, and monitoring of AWS environments.
Security & Compliance: Implement AWS security best practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), security groups, VPC design, encryption, and auditing to meet security and compliance requirements.
Disaster Recovery & Backup Solutions: Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and backup strategies for high availability and business continuity using AWS services such as AWS Backup, S3, and EC2 Auto Scaling.
CI/CD Pipelines: Integrate AWS services with CI/CD pipelines using AWS DevOps tools like CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, and third-party tools (Jenkins, GitLab).
Collaboration & Mentoring: Work closely with development, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal setup of the cloud infrastructure and the delivery of infrastructure projects. Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
You will be successful in this role if you have: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 1 year working with AWS cloud services and environments.
AWS Services Expertise: Advanced knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, etc.), as well as specialized services such as AWS Transit Gateway, AWS CloudWatch, and AWS Systems Manager.
Networking: Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts, including VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups, Direct Connect, Load Balancers, and VPN configurations.
Security & Compliance: Deep understanding of AWS security tools, such as IAM, AWS KMS, GuardDuty, and AWS Shield, and how to implement them to safeguard cloud infrastructure.
CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with AWS CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, and other CI/CD tools, enabling streamlined application deployment processes.
Database Management: Familiarity with AWS-managed databases, such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Aurora.
