We are looking for an enthusiastic transportation professional with a foundational understanding of U.S. domestic freight and cross-border logistics involving Canada and Mexico. This role is essential for supporting the smooth movement of goods across North America while helping to optimize cost, service, and compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive Category Strategies for each assigned category, in context of business objectives and utilizing the 7 steps to strategic sourcing process to understand and integrate category expertise, to set the direction of sourcing for the categories.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and transportation teams to align transportation strategies and minimize or eliminate disruptions.
  • Manage and optimize transportation operations across U.S., Canadian, and Mexican lanes while maintaining compliance with customs regulations and cross-border documentation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain carrier relationships for truckload, intermodal, and cross-border services.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in service levels and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are in place for indirect spending within the assigned categories
  • Identify and present innovation opportunities from suppliers to Procurement Business Partners and supply chain to drive innovation.
  • Conduct Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and negotiations with suppliers to achieve the most favorable price, incoterm and payment terms to reduce Nestle Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), make contracting decisions accordingly.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to the assigned categories to reduce and communicate risk and understand price changes.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain fields preferred
  • Strong knowledge of customs processes and trade compliance for Canada and Mexico
  • Experience in SAP, Power BI and other advanced data analytics tools preferred
  • Experience in Excel, Word, & PowerPoint required

SKILLS:

  • Understanding of procurement processes, category management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience with TMS platforms and freight audit/payment systems.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex problems with support and make decisions to change processes to drive improvements with cross functional teams and improve end to end execution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in using SAP, Microsoft; Excel, Prism, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The approximate pay range for this position is $65,800 to $88,888. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
