Job Overview: The Director of Contracts is responsible for leading Nemean's Contracting Department, overseeing and managing all aspects of contract administration, negotiations, and compliance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize contract awards and performance.
- Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions align with the company's goals and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., legal, finance, operations) to support contract performance and mitigate risks.
- Monitor and manage all contract modifications, extensions, and renewals.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Contracts team, ensuring effective workflow and high standards of contract management.
- Stay informed about federal contracting trends, policy changes, and government procurement practices, particularly in regard to the SBA's 8(a) Program and entity-owned (e.g. NHO) laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government clients and maintain strong relationships to drive contract success.
- Develop and maintain a database of contracts, tracking performance, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
- Ensure that all contract-related documents are properly executed, organized, and archived according to company policies and regulations.
- Analyze contract risks and provide strategic guidance to senior management regarding business opportunities and potential issues.
- Identify and pursue new government contracting opportunities.
- Assist in proposal development, pricing strategies, and execution plans to secure contracts.
- Ensure Nemean remains competitive and fully compliant in all contract pursuits and contractual operations.
- Ensure all contracts comply with FAR, DFARS, and other government procurement regulations.
- Lead audit preparations, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations to protect Nemean's interests.
- Stay updated with federal procurement law changes to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements/Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in government contracting, which may include a combination of government-employee contracting and/or vendor-side contracting in the federal government domain.
- 7+ years of operating in a senior leadership position within government or Industry procurement arena.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with NAICS codes and the ability to apply them effectively in federal contracting scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal acquisition strategies.
- Proven track record of winning and/or managing multi-million-dollar government contracts.
- Experience in contracts management, contract negotiations, proposal development, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.
- Ability to work independently and lead a remote team in a results-driven environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Security Requirement:
- Active DoD SECRET Level Clearance Required with ability to obtain a TS clearance.
Travel Required: Approximately 10% Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Certifications such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are a plus.
- Experience in negotiating both fixed-price and cost-reimbursement contracts.
- Familiarity with GSA schedules and other government procurement vehicles.
- Familiar with Monday.com.
- Familiar with Deltek Costpoint.
Physical Demands/Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment. Mostly sedentary work. Repetitive motion. Substantial movement (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen; extensive reading.
