Responsibilities

SummitRidge Hospital -is a place for Healing and Hope! Our acute care psychiatric hospital is located in Lawrenceville (about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta). We provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens).

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our talented Nursing team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Blood Collection: Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques to collect blood samples from patients.
  • Patient Interaction: Greet and identify patients, explain the procedure, and ensure their comfort during the blood draw.
  • Sample Handling: Properly label blood samples with patient information and test orders, and prepare them for transportation to laboratories.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of blood collection and patient information, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Safety and Hygiene: Follow safety protocols and infection control standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in blood collection techniques and familiarity with laboratory procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent required, along with completion of a phlebotomy training program.


Experience:

Min 3y-5 years recent work history as Phlebotomist - strongly preferred.

License/Certification:
Phlebotomy certification
