How You'll Perform the Role
- Serves as the key liaison between the Commercial team and the Finance organization enabled by enriched Business Partnering relationships, metric tracking and reporting key sales objectives and targets
- Support the commercial planning and financial forecasting/budgeting processes by developing detailed, forward-looking (18-month horizon) channel-level forecasts by customer and profit center, incorporating variability in gross price, trade allowances, and material/conversion costs. Present insights to Business Unit and Channel leadership.
- Provide senior management with actionable, predictive financial insights and data to support strategic business decision-making
- Responsible for monthly analysis, including detailed variance analysis of standard gross margin
- Drive integration of the Commercial Finance function into Novolex's digital transformation strategy by expanding the use of tools such as OneStream, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Manage the annual rebate program process, coordinating with regional sales managers to understand, analyze and recommend programs that will aid in Novolex's growth (& coordinates proper validation of distributor rebate payments)
- Develop and maintain a forward-looking customer profitability model that consolidates data from multiple systems to project 12-month profitability and analyze the impact of potential rebate structures and other incentives.
- Collaborate with IT to improve data integrity
- Coordinate monthly Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) tracking
- Drive corporate initiatives to field sales
What We Need From You
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required with emphasis in finance or accounting (MBA/CPA preferred)
- 2 to 4+ years of experience in a financial analytical role with specific experience in Gross-to-Net accounting and analysis. Public accounting experience preferred.
- In-depth understanding of income statement analysis
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills with an ability to anticipate the needs of the stakeholders and take quick action to satisfy
- Experience collaborating and working successfully with stakeholders and teams, with particular ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with database development and reporting tools, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel); SAP & HFM/Essbase experience preferred
- Experience with digital tools such as Tableau, Robotic Process Automation and Data Management are preferred
