Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Overtime: Required for Long Island deliveries (deliveries begin at 5:00 AM) On-Call Rotation: Every 2 weeks Home Nightly: No overnight stays; no state line crossings Travel Radius: Up to 150 air miles (approx. 139 miles, can take up to 4 hours one way) Temp to hire after 91 days based on performance **MVR required, and DOT physical / test required** We are seeking a Class A Driver to join our team. The driver will be responsible for the safe delivery, setup, and pickup of industrial pumping equipment, including Godwin and Flygt assets and HDPE piping. This position requires professionalism, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to safety standards. When not driving, the driver will assist in the yard with equipment handling and general support. Core Responsibilities Submit work orders digitally after every run using company-issued phone/laptop. Assist yard and field personnel in loading/unloading Godwin pumping equipment. Properly secure loads following FMCSA and DOT guidelines. Review delivery items with customers to ensure accuracy and completeness. Obtain customer signatures on rental contracts and documentation. Maintain all required driver documents (licenses, DOT medical card, etc.). Keep accurate logs for mileage, fuel, driving, and duty status. Perform and document daily visual inspections of delivery equipment. Comply with all company and customer safety policies. Communicate with Dispatch on delivery status, timing, and issues. Assist with setup of pumping equipment and provide startup instructions when required. Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency runs. Support yard organization and preparation of rental equipment when not on the road. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record. Minimum 1 year driving experience (tractor trailer and rollback required). High school diploma or GED. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call rotations. Experience with flatbed trailers and load securement (chaining, strapping). Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, skid steers, tow motors, etc. Experience fusing HDPE pipe (2"-48") preferred. Construction industry background preferred. Ability to read blueprints/layouts. Basic computer skills. Certifications & Specialized Knowledge Valid DOT Medical Card (required). Forklift certification (preferred). Fusion machine certification (preferred). |
