Engineering Change Notification Coordinator is responsible for the ensuring TRUMPF products are produced in accordance with the required customer schedule by processing and implementing engineering change notices (ECN or ECNs) accurately and in a timely fashion. Read and evaluate content of ECN, analyze its drawings and bill of material, verify implementation feasibility, review and resolve challenges with engineering, and execute implementation according to requested schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective means of communication for distribution and implementation of ECNs and scope related projects
  • Ensure compliance to TRUMPF ECN procedure and ensure that all changes meet expectations and timing commitments to the customer
  • Set up, lead, and/or support cross-functional ECN implementation meetings and content change reviews to coordinate changes with appropriate personnel (e.g., machine assembly, affiliates, suppliers, etc.)
  • Support determination of appropriate procurement method (e.g., in-house production, external assembly, external procurement, etc.) for new and existing changed parts
  • Assist in quoting process for new and existing changed parts and help determine best ECN implementation date based on inventory levels, urgency, and ease of implementation
  • Set up required master data fields in SAP for new materials
  • Utilize Smartsheet and Microsoft products such as Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook to manage, communicate, and document changes

Experience

Three-to-four years' previous technical experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred. Good hands-on mechanical experience and knowledge required. Must have strong working knowledge of bills of material, the metric system, and DIN standards. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure are a must. Must be organized, flexible, must take initiative and have the ability to work independently as well as on a team and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and experience with an MRP / ERP system is required; SAP and Smartsheet knowledge are a plus.

Education

Bachelor's or associate's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or suitable combination of education, formal technical training and work experience required.
