Director of Technology Applications, Construction(Onsite)

Job Description:

The Director of Technology Applications role is responsible for providing both daily and strategic leadership and direction of information technology and service, including enterprise software, applications development, support and maintenance. The position plays a leading role in applying new and emerging technologies and processes to help solve business challenges. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to organizational leaders across Ryan Companies business units including Construction and Field Operations. The Director is responsible for aligning current and emerging technologies to the Ryan Companies business objectives and initiatives. This role will collaborate and communicate within an expanding matrixed organization and be responsible for employee and contractor performance management.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Forge a strategic partnership with business and functional leaders to conduct ongoing needs analysis, to define, to prioritize, and to deliver information technology solutions.

  • Foster innovation, coordinating the evaluation and management of current and future Technology initiatives across the company to improve cost effectiveness, service quality and business development.

  • Managing incident and problem support for company's application portfolio within the Construction and Field Operations spaces.

  • Provides leadership, guidance, career pathing and performance management to a Technology team of FTE and contractor resources responsible for operations and execution of Technology systems and services that achieve high levels of customer satisfaction both internally and externally.

  • Define and estimate Technology project costs and return on investment, and appropriately assesses risks associated with Technology investments.

  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships that are vital to meeting key business objectives, including contract negotiation.

  • Assist with establishing and managing Technology departmental goals, objectives, operational procedures and align with team goals.

  • Assist internal business clients in planning and prioritizing work while managing their expectations to create a partnership of trust.

  • Execute high quality and methodical problem and root cause analysis and reporting to resolve production problems.

  • Plan the work and resource loads on a rolling schedule in accordance with client priorities.

  • Execute cross system and platform coordination to ensure smooth and successful implementations.

  • Identify, communicate and work to improve inefficient, deficient or missing processes.

  • Engage with production and operations support, operations and infrastructure groups (internal and vendors) to provide reliable and stable application services.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Previous Construction experience strongly considered.

  • Experienced strategic thinker that can put thought into actionable results

  • Demonstratable experience of people management areas including goal setting, performance management, providing regular feedback & coaching, and recognition

  • Strong understanding of Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, DevOps or solution delivery methodology.

  • Experienced technology leader with background in software development, infrastructure, security or related areas of Technology

  • Strong project management knowledge and meeting organization and facilitation skills.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to work with key internal clients and business leaders, who can transform complex technical language into easily understood concepts.

  • Ability to understand complex and multi-platform business flow.

  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, both within the Technology department and throughout the company.

  • Ability to perform in a lean work environment and be hands-on involved in all areas of responsibility.

  • Ability to initiate, organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple and complex projects.

Background Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of information science or business administration.

  • Proven management experience in a corporate environment dealing with a wide range of matters, including both application technology and core business operations, with a minimum five years in a leadership role.

  • Previous supervisory experience responsible for performance management with a proven track record of successful people management skills.

  • Successful management of significant cross-functional system implementations.

  • Experience of managing business analysis, including requirements definition and documentation.

  • Competency of operating within matrix organizations and managing external contract providers/vendors.

  • Budget experience, including development, management, and accountability.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and process orientation.

Compensation:

The base pay range is $142,500-$213,700/Annually. The salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
