The Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) seeks a service-focused and outcome-oriented Assistant Director of Career Management, MBA & Master's Programs, to join our strong and energized career development team. In this role, you will work directly with students in the (hybrid) Executive MBA (15-17 years experience), (hybrid) Professional MBA (6-7 years experience), and (in-person) Full-time MBA (5 years experience). Additionally, you will engage with (in-person) Specialty Master's (0-3 years average experience) students, particularly in programming that overlaps both residential and working professional populations.

Due to the hybrid nature of the Professional MBA and Executive MBA programs, students attend from across the Midwest and with broader reach across the country. Their shared goals for attending our programs are career enhancement - either changing careers completely ('career switcher') or advancing in their current industry or functional role. Additionally, our Full-time MBA and Master's students are admitted from across the globe and join our programs with diverse and interesting work and life experiences. This position supports our student's career progression, through delivering workshops and programs, one-on-one coaching, partnering with WSB Knowledge Centers and Programs, engaging WSB alumni, and more.

This role will also be a key partner in supporting residential students in early preparation and will develop programming for working professional and residential students. Key Job Responsibilities:
  • May identify and maintain a professional network of employers or other stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and employment opportunities for students
  • Participates in campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college/unit
  • Supervises unit staff and/or plans, organizes, allocates resources, assesses performance, and leads the operational activities for a significant portion of the unit's career services portfolio
  • Secures and/or maintains relevant certifications and provides specialized training for all MBA and Master's students on the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment and for Executive MBA students on the Human Synergistics LSI 1 and 2 leadership assessment tool.
  • Supports administrative tasks including financial reconciliation, event planning and coordination, data collection, and student communications to support the Director of Career Management and MBA & Master's Career Management team.
  • Educates or advises students and recent alumni individually, or in groups through various mediums about career exploration, self-assessment, skills, materials development, and career decisions
  • Develops and delivers career development programming and resource materials across various mediums to provide education to students
  • Responds to questions and provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures, and employment preparation

Compensation:

The starting salary for the position is $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in the areas of higher education, employer relations, human resources, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Well-qualified candidates will possess experience in/with:


  • Career advising, recruitment and employment/workforce; experience working directly with working professional populations such as the Executive MBA and part-time MBA is strongly desired.

  • Proven effectiveness in delivering career-related workshops and webinars of varying topics across multiple communication mediums, and optimizing programming related to strategic objectives.

  • Routinely working with student/customer data - inputting into online management systems, analyzing, running reports, and using insights for decision making.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication, public speaking, and customer service skills as well as effectiveness working individually on a team, and across stakeholder groups.

  • Awareness of employment trends and leadership development, and how they may impact students' career prospects.


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • Master's Degree Preferred
