Overview

This position drives planning and execution of investment-related products and solutions in support of strategic growth targets for First Citizens Wealth. This product suite may include managed account programs, trading program overlays, associated fee structures, and investment related services. Successful solution development and management will be informed by customer feedback, competitive landscape, quantitative analysis, and business unit strategy. The position coordinates all functions of development from conception to implementation; this includes enhancing existing or selecting new platform providers associated with new investment solutions. Communication and clarity with senior leadership on product design as well as ensuring alignment with best practices standards needed for a large financial institution (LFI) is critical.


Responsibilities

  • Development - Assists in all stages of business product development, with a focus on supporting strategic growth of the Wealth unit through creation of new solutions and enhancing existing solutions. This includes but is not limited to planning & design, business requirements definition, and alignment with management prior to coordinating execution efforts with clarity and flexibility. Leads selection and onboarding of new vendors as well as business requirements definition as needed in support of new solutions and services. Executes with command of all initiative needs, tracks and reports progress to appropriate parties.
  • Product Management - Ensures products are developed and managed with a coordinated strategy. Collaborates with both internal and external parties to implement enhancements and monitor development status and success. Develops and implements process enhancements as necessary to improve efficiencies. Handles complex and escalated product issues.
  • Market Analysis - Maintains competitive and ongoing knowledge of market changes. Conducts advanced analysis of trends including changing regulations, competitor options, and evolving customer needs. Implements changes based on analysis results to increase profitability and product appeal. May attend industry conferences or participate in sales activities to gauge market trends.
  • Customer and Advisor Engagement - Aligns with target customer and advisor experience through all stages of a product use. Works closely with front office leadership and go-to-market teams to ensure an informed and successful launch.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Wealth Product Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in financial services Product Management broadly.
