Moog's Corporate Groupis looking for a Director of Data Management to join our Technology Team!

As the Director of Data Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, governance, and operations related to data across the organization. You will ensure that data is accurate, secure, accessible, and effectively used to support business goals. In addition, you will have oversight of the Data Acquisition, Data Quality Management, Data Platform Architecture, and Data Consumption Services teams including strategy and tactical deployment.

You will be accountable for helping enable the shift to a data-driven culture. Areas of focus include acquisition of new data signals, services to harmonize data and improve data confidence, platform architecture and growth, and data consumption services. A strong belief that the actual data science should be embedded closest to the industry and geography it supports.

For the successful implementation and adoption of an enterprise data management program, we require you to have a strategic focus on the development of a program to effectively transform the way data is acquired, processed and utilized. You must have an understanding of the changing landscape and embrace the challenges, risks and opportunities related to the collection and use of data within the corporation.

To qualify for the Director of Data Management, here is what we would expect you to bring to Moog...

  • Bachelor's Degree (vocational or professional) in Data Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in Data Management, Information Technology, or related roles, with leadership experience.

  • Life-long student and advocate of data management with a minimum of five years of experience as a Data Architect implementing enterprise-level data program initiatives.

  • Competent and experienced in applying the concepts and tools of the data management discipline with a minimum of three years of experience in a role such as Data Manager.

  • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data architecture, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CMMC, GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Proven general capabilities in the following: initiating action, adaptability, building strategic working relationships, decision making, stress tolerance, communication, and planning & organizing.

  • Organized, disciplined, and methodical in approach to assignments, tasks and overall work.

  • Excellent written, oral and media-based communication skills, with demonstrated competence communicating with executive/senior leaders as well as staff.

  • Strong focus on collaboration and team orientation.

  • Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work on-site.

As the Director of Data Management, your responsibilities will include...

  • Data Strategy & Governance: The development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance to enable real-time decision-making.

  • Data Quality & Security: Monitoring and improving data accuracy, reliability, and security in accordance with regulatory and internal standards, maintaining data quality and security so that users have confidence in the data's completeness, timeliness, and accuracy.

  • System Oversight: Management of data systems such as data warehouses, data lakes, and business intelligence platforms.

  • Data Integration: Oversight of the integration of data across various systems and departments to ensure seamless data flow.

  • Consumption Model: Developing a consumption model and topology which is straightforward and intuitive for users to navigate and to obtain their data.

  • Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring data management teams, including data stewards, analysts, and engineers.

  • Collaboration: Working with technology, analytics, compliance, and business units to align data initiatives with organizational needs.

  • Cost-Effectiveness: Development of a Data Management program which is cost-effective.

  • Developing and managing the on-going stewardship of standards for individual and organizational performance in the application of data management disciplines.

  • Leading the data management program and deploy standard processes and disciplines across technology and the business

  • Helping to facilitate the development of data management competencies across technology teams.

  • Establishing and maintaining a Resource Center repository of educational, informational, and data management material and documents.

  • Developing and monitoring the change and communications strategy for the data management program.

  • Directing the development and management of the reporting process for data management activities.

  • Managing the maintenance and administration of a Data Management curriculum, workshops and interventions to proactively educate the enterprise on appropriate data usage, delivery, and management processes.

  • Assessing Data Management staff skills and abilities and identifying and implementing targeted competency development plans.

  • Assessing, developing and monitoring effectiveness of the data management program.

  • Partnering/Coaching Project Managers, Lead Agents and business unit Sponsors in the development and implementation of business unit specific data management plans.

  • Establishing a training strategy to build up the competency within the Global Technology Function.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $190,000.00-$230,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
