The Position

The Opportunity

The Immunology Discovery Department is seeking a highly motivated talented Scientist 3 to join our team in discovery research within the exciting field of mucosal immunology. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing innovative therapies for immune-related diseases.

This is a hands-on laboratory position that integrates cutting-edge bioinformatics, cellular immunology, and tissue biology to elucidate disease pathways and validate therapeutic targets. The role offers the unique opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment at the forefront of immunology research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interdisciplinary collaborations: collaborate closely with internal experts across computational and experimental disciplines to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets.

  • Integrated research: Conduct a combination of dry- and wet-lab work, analyze multi-omics datasets, generate testable hypotheses, design and execute experiments, and deliver high-quality, decision-driving data.

  • Scientific communication: Present the scientific findings to internal and external audiences with clarity and precision.

Who You Are

  • Education background: A Ph.D in immunology or a closely related field.

  • Research experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience, demonstrated through impactful, peer-reviewed, first-authored publications in high-quality journals.

  • Technical expertise: Proven expertise in immunology and skilled in the following areas:

    • Multi-omics data analysis: Ability to analyze and interpret transcriptomics, proteomics, and other datasets.

    • Flow cytometry: Proficient in performing multicolor flow cytometry to characterize immune cell populations.

    • In vivo animal models: Hands-on experience executing in vivo animal models to study disease mechanisms.

    • In vitro culture: expertise in isolating, culturing, and genetic manipulating primary immune cells through CRISPR to study cellular functions.

  • Personal qualities:

    • Detail-oriented: meticulous in experimental design, data analysis and documentation.

    • Organized: effectively manage time and resources

    • Driven: highly motivated and passionate about scientific discovery

Preferred

  • Experience working in lung and gut immunology research is strongly preferred but not required.

Relocation benefits are available for this posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $101,400 to $188,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
