SUMMARY

The mission, purpose and value added for this position is to assist Divisional accounting unit functions of specific Chlorovinyls manufacturing assets. Duties include recording, reporting, verifying, summarizing and evaluating financial and statistical information for local accounting unit and corporate management. This position will provide timely and accurate financial information to management helping to meet department's operational goals and core aims.

ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform detailed Accounting/Finance tasks associated with monthly close process for Regional Manufacturing plants.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly production statistical reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly internal management reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual line item detailed budget.
  • Assist in a review of balance sheet accounts.
  • Coordinate and support activities across locations and departments to include division-wide process support.
  • Monitor and enforce Company's internal controls to ensure assets are safeguarded.
  • Provide support and documentation for internal and external audits as necessary.
  • Work with Operations to ensure transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Prepare studies, evaluations and reports as requested by Accounting department and Corporate management.
  • Monitor and enforce Company's internal controls to ensure assets are safeguarded.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of detailed desk procedures for respective areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or industrial accounting preferred.
  • Previous SAP and EPM/BPC experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency using standard spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
