Job Title: Bookrunner - USD Linear Rates Trading

Corporate Title: Associate

Location: New York, NY

Overview

The Quant Trading team that is part of the Rates Trading division is looking to hire a 'book-runner'; the focus of the role is to supervise algorithms that trade the spectrum of linear interest rate products in North America. You will work closely with trading, sales, and quant research, ensuring the Firm remains commercially successful and our client franchise is served with a continuous, consistent, and competitive offering. The trading algorithms are a critical component within the trading architecture. To retain our edge, it is necessary to enhance and optimize our trading engine with intelligence and technological advancement. As the 'pilot' supervising trading algorithms, you will be responsible to monitor live performance, provide real-time feedback of trading outcomes and dynamically adjust controls if realized performance diverges from expected outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Daily supervision of a suite of trading algorithms across bonds, swaps, and futures. Contribution to start-of-day ready-for-business checks. Diligently monitor real-time metrics such as throughput, participation statistics and latency to verify that models and systems are performant
  • Close collaboration with core trading desk, adapting engine configuration as necessary. Co-operation with controls and operations to ensure trade amendments and cancellations requested by clients are actioned
  • Responsibility for P&L and risk sign-off
  • Collaboration with sales to ensure client participation targets are fulfilled
  • Ability to present results in a rigorous manner to justify the merits of the trading engine
  • Work in close co-operation with engineers for both business-as-usual and algorithm updates

Skills You'll Need

  • Knowledge of pricing and risk models for Macro products
  • Experience of working with a scripting language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis purposes
  • Preference for experience with KDB/Q
  • Preference for knowledge of trading algorithm design and market landscape

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams
  • Excellent presentational skills

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $135,000 to $175,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
