We are looking for a Staff Accountant to prepare certain bank reconciliations, assist with the preparation of ledgers, budgets, daily cash reports, accounting for fixed assets, and certain balance sheet account reconciliations. As a Trex Staff Accountant, you will be looked to as an innovator and expected to perform general accounting duties focused primarily in the areas of cash, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting. This role is a key member of our Accounting team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Accountant I



  • Assist the Accounting department in preparing ledgers and budgets, analyzing data, and preparing reports.
  • Highly involved with month end closing activities such as preparing and entering journal entries and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Record and report daily cash transactions, entering and reviewing invoices from vendors and suppliers, recording cash receipts from customers and assisting with various payroll needs.




Staff Accountant II



  • Track and analyze company data to account for matters such as warranty reserves, sales programs, stock compensation, and freight transactions.
  • Assist in compiling information for annual and quarterly audit engagements and responding to auditor requests.
  • Assist with development of and compliance with effective internal controls and support the annual SOX audit.
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of financial reports and metrics.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures related to all aspects of Finance and Accounting functions; as well as provide input on areas for improvement.
  • Support various system implementations and aid in the testing of new programs, processes, and upgrades as necessary.
  • Opportunity to assist with preparation of tax provision and accounting for income taxes.
  • May coach and train company personnel and provide guidance to less experienced staff on technical accounting matters.



EXPERIENCE

Staff Accountant I - 1-3 years of directly related technical experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

BASE SALARY RANGE: $58,000-$75,000 annually

Staff Accountant II - 3-5 years of directly related technical experience; a bachelor's degree is required

BASE SALARY RANGE: $76,000-$95,000 annually

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual and/or sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
