As a Security Guard - Utilities Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a leading utilities location, you will play a key role in access control, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the assigned area. You will remain highly visible to provide a reassuring presence and deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting individuals as needed. Pay Rate: $18.02 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the utilities location.
• Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and/or visitors.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for utilities environments.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or suspicious activities observed during shifts.
• Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related needs and concerns specific to the utilities location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
