Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a growing commercial insurance holding company, has an immediate need for a full-time Legal Clerk for its Litigation Department located in Cleveland, OH. This position will maintain various litigation support functions.



Responsibilities

Retrieve, open, index, and scan incoming mail

* Distribute mail to proper teams via email and hard copy distribution if necessary

* Notify internal stakeholders of received process

* Maintain hard copy storage and shredding protocol for mail and process outbound USPS /

FedEx mail

* Upload digital files to workflow management platform and maintain data integrity in computer

platform

* Follow Up on Invoices and request extensions on subpoenas

* Collect, reviewed, redact, categorize and produce documents using AmTrust's in-house e-

discovery platform in response to subpoenas or in connection with other legal matters.

* Support multiple attorneys and non-attorneys across many facets of AmTrust's business,

including responding to subpoenas, litigation discovery requests, internal investigations,

regulatory and compliance matters, special investigations, and corporate due diligence.

* Collaborate with staff, vendors, visitors in a professional and courteous manner

* Communicate with clients, witnesses, adversaries, and team members in connection with the

litigation support needs of AmTrust.

* Manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented setting

* May also have additional duties to shared emails

* Maintain office equipment and supplies

* Integrate with other team members on special tasks to accomplish team objectives

* No supervisory responsibilities; however, manages own workload and works with a moderate

degree of supervision`

* PERFORMS OTHER FUNCTIONALLY RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED



Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Prior work-related experience

* Ability to lift heavy boxes, files, and paper (30 lbs.)

* Ability to operate mailing, copy, and fax equipment

* Handle time-sensitive material

* Ability to apply experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise

* Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

* Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to work independently and multi-tasking is required

* Working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes

* Broadened technical skills in analytical methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities

* Communicate moderately complex technical information within team environment

* Ability to function within standard operating procedures with a moderate degree of supervision

* Ability to recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area by evaluating and selecting solutions from established operating procedures
