PURPOSE:


The Business Development Manager will develop market strategies in line with company growth, strategic plans and market intelligence. This role will identify new markets and customers to help grow Calumet's presence within the Energy Sector across our entire product portfolio.


Location of Texas or Southern US preferred.


KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Identify and develop strategic relationships with potential customers
  • Identify potential business partners and negotiate agreements
  • Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the results of past campaigns and developing new initiatives and partnerships
  • Propose, develop, and oversee opportunities and related economics that will support effective business decision making and company growth
  • Act as a subject matter expert, understanding business/economic/industry and delivering insights and recommendations to improve business performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to lead internal business case development
  • Implement processes related to sales and new product initiatives
  • Responsible for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities including international management
  • Development of growth strategies based on market and company data
  • Collect, analyze, and present data related to sales and margin performance
  • Work with marketing and sales groups to align with the company's growth strategy
  • Present progress to Senior Leadership Team on a quarterly basis
  • Ability to analyze significant amounts of information and find opportunities within customer and economic trends


REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:



  • Minimum 5 years of business development experience with demonstrated success of closing new accounts and building strong relationships
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Proven ability to effectively use Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in making formal presentation to groups at all levels within an organization (internal and external)
  • Position requires extensive travel (40% or more)


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:



  • Experience in selling specialty chemicals and lubricants
  • Knowledge of the Energy Sector industry and experience with mining, oil and gas.
