What this job involves:
The Maintenance Mechanic supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. You will assist MES Mobile Engineers in maintenance and repair efforts while also independently performing defined tasks. This role involves performing inspections and repairs on both interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting to ensure optimal facility operations.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Maintenance:

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to work orders for facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems, equipment, and components
  • Conduct assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
  • Complete general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and fixing doors
  • Assist the operations team with building and equipment maintenance and repair as directed
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested
  • Replace lighting and ballasts throughout facilities
  • Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts to maintain system efficiency
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

Safety:

  • Complete hazard assessments as necessary to ensure workplace safety
  • Comply with all safety procedures while maintaining good housekeeping and safety standards in work areas
  • Recognize danger and safety hazards; propose methods to eliminate risks
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, and City ordinances, codes, and laws
  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled
  • Practice defensive driving at all times
  • Comply with all policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials

Administrative:

  • Submit P-card receipts daily for accurate expense tracking
  • Update work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as 360 Facility
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections as required
  • Escalate problems or issues to customers and managers in a timely manner
  • Attend work and safety meetings as required

Other:

  • Perform any and all other duties and tasks assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Valid state driver's license (must be maintained)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3rd party certification in relevant trade areas

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 ft
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving required
  • Must pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening process (if mobile)
