Assistant Professor in Microbiology POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Penn State,University Park campus, invites applications for a tenure-trackfaculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The search is open to any area of Microbiology. Areas of particularinterest for this year's search include bacteriology, virology,parasitology, and mycology. Applicants should have a Ph.D., a record of creative researchaccomplishments, a research plan clearly articulating futurecontributions to the field, and a strong desire to achieve teachingexcellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Theposition features outstanding research space and a competitivestart-up package. The anticipated starting date for this appointment is summer orfall of 2026 or spring of 2027. The duties include research,teaching, supervision of student research at both the undergraduateand graduate levels, and service to the university and the greaterprofessional community. Candidates are expected to demonstrateinterest in and capacity for developing a strong, independentresearch program, and teaching and mentorship excellence at boththe undergraduate and graduate levels.
