Electrical Engineering Manager

Walbec Group is expanding it's renewable energy practice with a focus on solar projects. From ground-mounted arrays on agricultural land to rooftop solar installations on commercial buildings. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer Manager to lead a team delivering the designs, permitting, and interconnection that bring these projects to life.

The Position:

  • This role involves overseeing, directing and executing engineering designs (civil, electrical, mechanical) and permitting efforts for a range of energy sector projects overseeing a team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Managing and mentoring engineering team, providing guidance, support and fostering professional growth
  • Driving technological advancements, staying up to date with industry trends
  • Ensuring adherence to best practices, industry regulations and quality assurance processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

The Candidate:

  • Required Skills

    • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems or renewable energy with a strong interest in applying skills to solar and clean energy projects.
    • Professional Engineering licensure.
    • Deep understanding of permitting process, interconnection requirements, and renewable energy systems design.
    • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, external partners, and multiple complex projects simultaneously.
    • Understanding of business objectives, financial management and market dynamics.
    • Position is remote with travel up to 30% of the year visiting sites and our offices in Wisconsin.
