Job Family Description

Maintenance/production personnel support the operational success of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, buildings, systems, and shops. Professionals in these roles are responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of equipment, machinery, and production processes to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Discipline Description

Professionals in site services infrastructure provide various support functions to manage and maintain the physical facilities and systems that support operations. They provide operations and maintenance for site utility systems (steam, electrical, sanitary wastewater, fire water, domestic water, process water, etc.) roads, bridges, lakes, dams, outfalls, and railways. They perform fire systems operations, maintenance, and testing, and ventilation and HEPA filter testing. They supply and maintain Site Leased Portable Equipment. They perform Crane and Rigging support and oversight of the Site Hoisting and Rigging Program, railroad operations and maintenance, site fleet and fuel management services, transportation services, ground maintenance and herbicide, trucking, and waste removal.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Manage the operation of the facility to ensure operational compliance with all environmental and safety rules and regulations. Ensure that all operating activities are performed safely and in accordance with approved operating procedures and within the requirements of Technical Specifications and/or Operations Safety Requirements. Train (and document
training) Site Services in proper operation of Site Services equipment, Conduct of Operations and Safety & Security Policies and Procedures. Ensure all employees are trained, qualified, and fit for duty. Assist in the coordination, support of maintenance, and project work being done in Site Services. Prioritize for meeting the day-to-day needs of
multiple customers and work groups quickly and efficiently. (steam, chiller water, process water, service water, domestic water and sanitary water needs) Approve the start of all maintenance, operations, construction, test and surveillance that affect the facility or its equipment. Communicate with other support organizations to ensure operating activities are started and completed as scheduled. Perform initial
investigation of abnormal events including the removal from service of equipment and systems as necessary. Make timely, informative notifications as required, and take emergency action as necessary to prevent or mitigate the consequences of an abnormal event and always place the facility in a safe, stable condition following an event. Provide clear, concise instructions to operators or support personnel and require them to ~repeat-back~ their understanding of the
instructions. To reinforce HPI Tools and how they help to improve our awareness when we work. Perform periodic tours of the facility to observe activities and ensure they are being performed safely and in accordance with approved procedures. Identify housekeeping and facility material condition deficiencies to the appropriate organization(s) for corrective action.

Required Qualifications

* Five or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Associate's Degree in relevant field plus three or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

We'd Also Like to See

Operations experience preferred.
Working knowledge of equipment operation, process systems, safety policies and procedures; as well as knowledge in the mechanical, electrical, and chemical fields.
An in-depth knowledge of industrial Operating proficiency, principles, Conduct of Ops principles, regulations, and procedure requirements.
Good written and oral communication skills.

Career Level Description

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
