Job Description

Summary: Provides leadership across the organization in all areas of financial matters, including ensuring timely financial closes, financial reporting, budget preparation and variance analysis, all requiring a strong foundation in cost accounting concepts. Leads the preparation of and cross-functional alignment on operational and financial KPIs., while maintaining a system of strong internal controls leading to reliable and accurate financial statements, audit readiness and conformity in accounting practices with IFRS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Manage and direct the Finance and Accounting team.
  • Responsible for the month end closing process.
  • Prepare reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in the areas of income; expenses; and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Maintain a documented system of controls over accounting transactions, policies and procedures.
  • Lead the preparation of department budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Lead the Annual Physical Inventory
  • Manage the Company's capital budget for PP&E.
  • Ensure the proper classification, appropriate valuation and existence for all balance sheet accounts, through monthly reconciliations.
  • Timely resolution of unreconciled account variances.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies and the Corporate office, including sales & use tax, fixed asset impairments, environmental reporting requirements and other financial attestations.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
  • Other duties with the work as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree with major studies in accounting and/or finance or related field with a minimum (8) years related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible professional accounting background.
  • Strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, payroll, budgets, internal auditing, credits and collections, & cash and banking.
  • Aerospace and/or manufacturing background is required.

Required Skills:

  • Language: Ability to establish cooperative relationships at all levels. Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills; must have the ability to read, comprehend, present, and write correspondence, reports, presentations, technical journals and data, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving many variables in various situations.
  • Mathematical Skills: Must have advanced knowledge of accounting and finance methodologies.
  • Other Abilities: Must have the ability to plan, set up, and administer a wide variety of accounting operations, to analyze and compute essential data objectively, and to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy. Must have extensive knowledge of GAAP/IFRS. Must be well-organized and high level of attention to detail.

Annual Target Salary = $175,000.00
