Summary of Job Duties:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to serve as the College of Nursing Associate Dean for Finance and Administration at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Nursing, this 100% full-time position is responsible for overseeing the daily business operations of the CON, including financial performance, personnel management, and the effective oversight of physical resources. The role involves managing the CON's operating budget, foundation accounts exceeding $10 million, and grant accounts, while also providing leadership in budget development, financial management, and procurement. The Associate Dean will lead HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff development, and ensure compliance with UAMS policies and best practices. Additionally, the position requires oversight of physical resources such as space planning and inventory management, as well as active participation in CON committees, institutional projects, and accreditation preparation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of the College of Nursing at UAMS. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience working with budgets, accounting, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • Seven (7) years of experience working with budgets, accounting
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with general ledger systems, contracts administration, grants management, knowledge of finance, and human resources.
  • Understanding of fund accounting principles

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in financial management and budget development.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in HR processes and compliance.
  • Ability to analyze and report on financial data.
  • Experience in space planning and resource management.
  • Knowledge of UAMS policies and best fiscal practices.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget and Financial Oversight: Manage the CON's operating budget, foundation accounts exceeding $10 million, and grant accounts.
  • Administrative Leadership: Develop budgets, manage financial resources, and oversee procurement, travel, contracts, audits, and financial reporting.
  • Human Resources Management: Lead HR processes, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, and personnel record management.
  • Physical Resource Management: Oversee space planning, inventory, and maintenance to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Serve on the Dean's Executive Leadership Council, contribute to institutional projects, and participate in accreditation preparation.
