Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Azure & Snowflake Migration for a 5-month contract role with our healthcare client in Eden Prairie, MN. This role is 100% remote Compensation: $60.00 - $67.00 per hour W2, depending on skill and experience level. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead a Cloud Data Modernization initiative. In this role, you'll migrate on-premises Enterprise Data Warehouse (SQL Server) to a modern, cloud-based data platform leveraging Azure and Snowflake. You'll work on cutting-edge technologies, optimize data workflows, and help shape the future of our data ecosystem. What You'll Do Design and implement scalable data solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Logic Apps, ADLS Gen2, Blob Storage, and Snowflake. Modernize ETL processes by migrating from SSIS/T-SQL to cloud-native tools. Develop Databricks notebooks for ETL and analytics workloads. Build and optimize PySpark/Spark SQL pipelines. Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using GitHub Actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration. Validate and test data consistency between on-prem and cloud environments. Ensure compliance with data security and governance standards. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with cloud expertise. Hands-on experience with Azure Data tools (ADF, SHIR, Logic Apps, ADLS Gen2) and Snowflake. Strong skills in PySpark, Spark SQL, and Databricks development. Experience with Airflow DAGs, GitHub Actions, and Agile methodologies. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies. Nice to Have Data modeling and database design experience. Knowledge of data governance and quality best practices. Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud. Azure or Snowflake certifications. Why Join?
