About the role

Director-Technical Delivery is responsible for the successful delivery of projects to Akkodis, Inc. customers. In this role, you will lead the delivery team, while establishing and following best practices to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, within scope, and with quality. You will be accountable for the successful delivery of our contracts and service agreements and the revenue associated with them. The Technical Delivery team is tasked with working across the organization and externally to create, monitor and execute plans to deliver solutions and services to our customers, while meeting contractual obligations and achieving business objectives. Your leadership abilities and direction will build the foundation for delivery revenue planning, integral in the forecasting and revenue recognition process.

Reporting to the Director-Technical Delivery will be Technical Delivery Managers, Technical Delivery Engineers and Engagement Leads and Managers all focused on execution and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical project delivery, project performance, customer satisfaction, technology adoption, and employee performance and development.

The Director - Technical Delivery will be measured using project financial and schedule related goals, employee utilization, employee, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate is a visionary that craves a detailed view and understanding of operations to drive every aspect of technical project delivery. This individual will be able to deal and negotiate effectively, manage and track financial outcomes.

What you'll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance and decision-making on complex engineering challenges.
    • Architect and design scalable, robust software solutions aligned with business needs.
    • Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to identify potential improvements.
    • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.
  • Project Delivery Management:
    • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
    • Manage technical dependencies, identify potential roadblocks, and proactively mitigate risks.
    • Monitor project progress, track key metrics, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with product managers to define project scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Team Development and Mentorship:
    • Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and development.
    • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve quality
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Project execution: Actively manage technical aspects of projects, including deployment, configuration, and monitoring to ensure timely delivery according to specifications.
  • Technical troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues that arise during implementation and operation, collaborating with development teams to identify root causes.
  • System integration: Integrate various software components and systems to create a cohesive solution, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
  • Automation development: Design and implement automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks like testing, deployment, and monitoring, improving efficiency.
  • Performance optimization: Analyze system performance metrics and identify bottlenecks to implement improvements and maintain optimal performance.
  • Customer support: Provide technical support to clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring smooth system operation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate progress, and manage dependencies.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance delivery processes, promote best practices, and stay updated with emerging technologies
  • Additional duties as defined by management
  • The responsibilities of this position may require on-call time or work outside normal business hours.

About you

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE & OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years Experience in IT/Engineering Services technical delivery

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding of system architecture and design principles
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Expertise in system architecture design and implementation
  • Experience with testing methodologies and quality assurance practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Travel: 5% or less
