Summary: Perform duties and tasks as an Instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Practical Nurse Course Program (PNCP) performing didactic classroom and laboratory instruction as well as assist government instructors Job Description:
- Develop and updating instructional materials such as lesson plans, student notes, visual aids, and examinations, Facilitator Guides, Student Guides, Course materials.
- Conduct classroom and laboratory instruction (i.e., teach) of any/all lesson topics in the courses using the approved course materials and methods that are likely to ensure students meet established learning objectives.
- Prepare cases, set up, and administer/conduct practical exercises.Develop, set up, administer, and grade written and practical examinations as well as perform appropriate statistical analysis on exam results
- Provide SME support/technical support that includes Computer-/Web-Based Component of the course
- Perform course administrative functions including maintaining student and course administrative records, organizing training materials, and identifying supply needs.
- Perform logistics activities such as using supplies and equipment in accordance with Plan of Instruction,Maintain order and cleanliness of the training facility as needed,Assisting with setting up and moving furniture and equipment within the facility.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of academic and experiential qualifications and backgrounds (identified in documented descriptions of roles and responsibilities) that are necessary to meet program objectives and the mission of the institution.
- Able to stand and walk around classroom/laboratory for 2 hours continuously and intermittently for 2 hours.
- Minimum three years' clinical experience as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- An unrestricted license or be otherwise regulated in that state or jurisdiction as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Instructor must be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in from Texas Board of Nursing or a compact state, must hold an associate degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency, and must have a minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice as a nurse.
- Minimum education requirements: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
