Job Title: Director of Business Development - M&A and Strategic Partnerships

Reports To: Vice President, Business Development

Location: Remote with approx. 50% Travel

The Director of Business Development - M&A and Strategic Partnerships is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and advancing strategic acquisition and partnership opportunities. Working closely with the VP of Business Development, this role will lead the full deal lifecycle - from market intelligence, pipeline development, prospecting, deal intake, discovery, and negotiating of M&A activity until a letter of intent is signed. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator with deep connections in hearing healthcare who will significantly grow HearingLife' s footprint across the U.S.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Market & Opportunity Analysis

* In partnership with the Senior Manager of Operations, conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, whitespace opportunities, and potential acquisition targets.

* Evaluate geographic and demographic data to support strategic expansion planning.

* Develop business cases and financial models to assess the viability and strategic fit of acquisition prospects.

Pipeline Development & Prospecting

* Build and manage a robust pipeline of acquisition and partnership opportunities aligned with corporate growth objectives.

* Lead outreach and relationship-building with potential targets, industry partners, and advisors.

* Maintain CRM or pipeline tracking tools to monitor progress and prioritize opportunities.

* Identify and build relationships with the top 10 acquisition targets in each state, ranked by the number of locations and/or that complement our current network of locations.

* In partnership with the VP of Business Development, identify and attend industry conferences to present and educate the industry on topics that lead to future acquisitions.

* Work closely with Marketing to develop a marketing strategy that is a targeted approach to grow your pipeline and build awareness.

M&A Discovery & Execution

* Looks for ways to simplify the intake and valuation process for acquisitions based on the complexity of the deals that are identified.

* Manage the intake and discovery process for new acquisition leads, including initial screening, data collection, and stakeholder alignment.

* Prepare recommendation documents and present findings to senior leadership and the M&A team.

* In partnership with the director of integration, successfully transition the business from a letter of intent into due diligence. Assuring a proper hand-off that is easy and concise.

* Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and acquisition targets for financial, operational, and legal information.

Integration Planning Support

* Collaborate with the Director of Integrations and Senior Manager of Operations to support the development of integration plans.

* Contribute to strategies for team member retention, communication, and training during the transition phase.

* Assist in preparing internal documentation and communications to support a seamless handoff to integration teams.



Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.

* 7+ years of experience in business development, field sales, or M&A. Hearing Healthcare industry preferred.

* Proven ability to conduct market analysis, build acquisition pipelines, and manage due diligence processes.

* Strong financial acumen and experience with valuation, modeling, and business case development.

* Excellent communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

* Experience in healthcare, hearing care, or multi-site retail environments is a plus.

the Salary range for this position is 115k-130k base plus bonus/incentives.
