OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY Learning & Development Specialist 2 Remote - Salem, Oregon - Equitable Building

Are you passionate about improving systems that make a difference in the lives of youth?

Join the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) Modernization Project as a key member of the Business Implementation Team (BIT). In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of JJIS by assessing and analyzing user needs, translating those needs into clear and actionable user stories for developers, and collaborating closely with technical teams to enhance and modernize system features. You'll apply Agile methodologies to ensure flexibility, collaboration, and user satisfaction-contributing to everything from user feedback and backlog refinement to training development and user support.

A key focus of this position is training and implementation support. You will collaborate with curriculum developers to inform and refine lesson plans and training guides, effectively present training materials to users for implementing updated software applications, and deliver on-site, in-person training to a wide range of users across the state. Tentative Interview Schedule:

NOTE: The first round of interviews will be conducted via VidCruiter, an online video interview platform that offers flexibility by allowing you to complete your interview within a given time window. To Qualify For This Position:

  • Five years of work experience designing, planning, and implementing adult education courses, or applying web-based technologies in a blended learning environment;

OR

  • Five years of work experience designing, planning, and implementing organizational development strategies.

OR

  • A bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Psychology, Business or Public Administration, Training and Development, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or related field may substitute for three years of the work experience stated above

  • Documented software training experience, including in-person, virtual, and web-based training.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of training delivery strategies related to software technologies, products, and applications.

  • Clear understanding of practices and standards for technology delivery.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting but also to work independently.

  • Ability to travel as trainings will occur at locations throughout the state over several weeks.
