IMEG is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Cincinnati, OH, to join our top 5 U.S. engineering design firm known for award-winning projects, advanced technology, and a collaborative culture. As a Structural Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing safe, efficient, and resilient buildings. From gravity and lateral framing to foundation systems, you'll apply your expertise through calculations, reports, BIM coordination, and specifications that bring projects to life on time and within budget. In this role, you'll often serve as Lead Designer, using software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations to analyze and design structures-while exercising your engineering judgment and growing your leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project specifications and verify that design meets code requirements
  • Calculate costs and time schedules for proposed work; review all files to determine scope and personnel involved
  • Maintain good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress as related to fee expended
  • Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
  • Prepare and issue addendum information
  • Recognize potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager
  • Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement
  • Mentor designers and/or modelers
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Structural Engineering license
  • A minimum of 4 years of qualifying experience
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and structures
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

Location
Cincinnati, OH

Salary Range $106,000 - $167,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
