Data Center Technician
Location: Onsite - Alexandria & Manassas, VA Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 (with benefits) Clearance Requirement: Public Trust (SF-85). An active clearance is not required to apply, but candidates must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a government Public Trust background investigation.
Description
KeyLogic, LLC is currently seeking a Data Center Technician to support a Data Center Support program for USPTO. The overall program includes performing Server Hardware, Server Software, Storage Hardware, Printers and Scanners, Storage and Network support across USPTO's multiple facilities and locations.
Responsibilities
- Support the Data Center across all dimensions.
- Provide Level I technical support to server technicians, network administrators, and support personnel for all systems that support the Data Center environment, including:
- Racking equipment
- Cabling
- Power
- Space planning
- Shipping and receiving
- Cooling management
- Perform equipment installations, relocations, decommissions, shipping/receiving, and surplus in the data center environments.
- Troubleshoot problems in primary and backup Data Center environments.
- Conduct quarterly audit of data center equipment.
- Provide documentation for all equipment moves.
- Handle tickets for local support and implementation purposes and perform tasks as documented.
- Perform physical server builds and decommissions as per SOPs, perform QA on builds, and complete deployment documentation in appropriate systems.
- Perform racking and stacking of hardware, including cross-connect patching and labeling per best practices.
- Follow direction in assistance of Data Center systems maintenance, including PDU installation, power circuit auditing, and rudimentary CRAC unit management.
- Maintain Data Center inventories, spare parts, RMA, and other required procedures.
- Work as part of an On-Call team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Requirements

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with assembling, deploying, and troubleshooting server hardware.
- Working understanding of internet-related technologies and protocols.
- Comfortable working alone.
- Strong customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated flexibility, organization, and self-motivation.
Desired Skills
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, and Data Center Certified Technician.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
