Our pulmonary division at Newark Beth Israel is seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to join our outpatient pediatric pulmonary team. This role supports a diverse patient population, including ventilator-dependent children, pediatric asthma patients, and pediatric sleep medicine cases.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
  • Current NJ respiratory license
  • Pediatric experience and ventilator competency preferred (training available)
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • 8:00-5:00

  • Full-Time

Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy services including performing pulmonary function tests for pediatric patients in an outpatient setting
  • Manage and troubleshoot ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and other respiratory support equipment.
  • Work with DME companies in obtaining, tracking, and maintaining home respiratory equipment
  • Assist with education and management of asthma, sleep disorder, and other pulmonology patients
  • Become a certified Asthma Educator within 3 months of hiring
  • Collaborate with pediatric pulmonologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based care
  • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, respiratory health, and home management strategies
