Senior Project Manager - Transportation Role Description: Huitt-Zollars' Philadelphia office has a full-time opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Transportation. The successful candidate will have deep experience in managing facilities design and construction contracts. The position duties require management and oversight for a wide range of facilities from programming and planning through construction management oversight. The candidate will possess experience as an owner or have intimate knowledge of transportation agency mission and program delivery strategy. The candidate will be able to effectively communicate with all levels of agency staff and engineering firm principals and subject matter experts within multiple locations and business sectors. The candidate will hold experience in business development and have strong client relationships. The selected candidate will demonstrate agility to drive multiple projects concurrently. Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Employment Type: 40 FT Hours Compensation Type: Salary Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture required Registration(s): PE, RA, AIA, or PMP Duties:
- Serve as Senior Project Manager for on-call Program Management of capital transportation projects for transit agencies. Translate owner assignments to deliver high-level expert advice and provide oversight for several facility projects in planning, design and construction including providing feedback and direction to other project managers as an independent entity on behalf of the owner(s). Provide progress reports, risk analyses, cashflow projections and coordinate intimately with design teams to deliver several transit investments.
- Serve as Project Manager for Facilities projects within Pennsylvania and other parts of the United States.
- Prepare project delivery protocols and guidelines by collaborating with multiple stakeholders and utilizing trend data.
- Manage technical staff the company as well as subconsultants to deliver quality, on schedule design deliverables and/or oversight for transportation projects to include all disciplines.
- Market target clients and lead proposal preparation including oral presentations and scope, schedule and budgets with work breakdown structure.
- Prepare project work plans, quality plans and risk plans.
- Participate in Office Leadership including assisting with Workload Projections, Annual Business Plan, Growth Strategies, Recruiting and Staff Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.
- Successfully and consistently functions as Lead Principal-in-Charge for their designated Practice Area in geographic market.
- Competent, knowledgeable, service leader in the market(s) they service.
- Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
- Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
- Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Verifies client satisfaction routinely and shares feedback with team.
- Proactively works with PM to strategize resolving issues that impact project performance. Reviews progress with PM at least monthly (including & completes vs. % spent) and that PM is adhering to weekly rhythm.
- Successfully contributes to the overall profitability and financial performance on projects.
- Oversees staff deliverables and production assigned to their projects to ensure client, legal, and company requirements are met.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- PE, RA, AIA, or PMP.
- 15+ years' experience in design and construction of Transit or Facilities Projects.
- Experience in Marketing & Business Development including writing proposals and preparing oral presentations.
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
