General Summary of Position MedStar Health is searching for an Assistant Director of Nursing for our Quality and Safety Department. This position is primarily a day shift but may require some evenings and weekends for regulatory readiness. We have the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute (MGCI) at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, which has technology not available anywhere else in the area, such as Halcyon treatment system and Zap-X We have a Level II Special Care Nursery We have a strong neurosciences program, with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital neurologists and neurosurgeons available onsite. The Assistant Director of Quality & Safety is responsible for assisting the Director of Quality, HIM in planning, organizing and managing the coordination of the organization's performance improvement activities related to Quality and Safety. The Assistant Director will function as the hospital's Quality and Patient Safety officer and assist in the areas of risk management communicating routinely with Physician Leadership and Medical Staffing. Requirements *Active MD or Compact State RN License required *BSN required; MSN preferred *Minimum of 3years in safety, quality or risk management in an acute care/ hospital setting required *Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in critical care nursing required This position has a hiring range of $118331.00 - $230172.00
