Job Description

* Lead the process engineering teams for the Midland Basin and Western Division

* Guide each process engineer through the following four iterative steps:

1. Collect and trend daily performance data to maintain a running narrative to share with management at any time. The process engineer should be as knowledgeable and accountable for daily plant performance as the plant manager.

2. Understand the original design basis of the plant. The original material and energy balance should be understood in conjunction with equipment sizing / OEM data sheets. A process simulation should be built that accurately represents the original design case for the gas plant. If there are multiple trains in a gas plant, there should be a process simulation developed for each train that ensures that any differences in equipment size or design between the trains are identified and understood.

3. Understand the daily operating performance of each applicable unit operation for each train from the following list:

* Condensate processing / recycle gas from condensate processing

* Amine treating and regen

* TEG treating and regen

* Mol sieve adsorption and regen

* Cryo performance

* Refrigeration compression and chiller performance

* Residue gas compression

* NRU and associated compression

* Differential pressure across plant filters and coalescers

The goal is to understand how current operating conditions compare to the original design case from Step 2 and to be able to explain any differences that exist between actual operating data and the design intent for the facility. Modifying the process simulation from Step 2 to reflect current operating conditions is an effective way to analyze why differences may exist between real operating conditions and the design basis. This step requires tracking data from a data historian (like DataParc) or going into the control room to acquire the data directly from the process control screens.

4. Consistently iterate through Steps 1-3 throughout the year, always prepared to communicate the following to management:

* Current limit / bottleneck to throughput or recovery

* Short term OPEX or maintenance CAPEX project ideas that could improve plant performance

* Longer term CAPEX ideas that could improve plant performance

The process engineer should be able to provide detailed scope-of-work concepts for management to hand off to local maintenance teams or capital project teams.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Technical experience in midstream gas gathering and processing facilities
  • Effective team leader with proven management capability
  • Motivated goal-oriented individual with excellent organization, planning, implementation, time-management, and quality control skills

Minimum Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in midstream gas gathering and processing facilities

  • BS in chemical or mechanical engineering
  • Ability to work in results driven, fast -paced environment
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, proposal and presentation)
  • Proficient in Excel, data historians, ProMax or other process simulation software

Valid driver's license required and successful completion of background check, pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
