What you'll do

This entry-level role is designed to offer real-world, hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate IT environment. The intern will primarily support and gain experience with key Microsoft technologies and virtualization platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Patching, VMware and Azure. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about technology and eager to develop their skills in IT infrastructure and application support.

This Intern role is a short term/part-time role located in Southfield, Michigan, and reports to the Infrastructure Applications Manager. Approximately 20 -25 hours a week. Paid relocation and benefits are not available for this temporary position.

• Assist with daily management and monitoring of data center infrastructure under supervision.
• Provide basic technical and administrative support for infrastructure systems.
• Help maintain and support performance monitoring tools.
• Support Microsoft 365 services (Teams, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive) as directed.
• Participate in compliance maintenance and patching for Windows Operating Systems and applications.
• Assist in the deployment and management of applications in Azure environments
• Participate in the maintenance and enhancement of IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with team members on projects to enhance system reliability and efficiency
• Help document IT processes and contribute to the knowledge base
• Learn about and assist in the integration of cloud solutions and identity management
• Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest technology and best practices

What you'll need

• Currently enrolled in an accredited University program
• Genuine interest in and familiarity with Microsoft products and virtualization technologies such as Teams, VMware, Virtual Desktops, and Azure
• Very good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Thorough attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new technologies
• Core hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
• Ability to work in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday
