Phillips Medisize, is seeking an Operations Manager to support our medical manufacturing facility in Menomonie, WI. This position will plan, organize, lead, and control assembly and tooling operations to meet or exceed business plan objectives and meet customer expectations for quality, delivery, and service in large facility.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Supervise, manage & provide direction and leadership to facility production team leaders in a 24x7 mfg. environment
  • Supervisory responsibilities include but not limited to: managing performance of direct reports; addressing disciplinary issues; hiring; encouraging career development, providing effective and open communication, maintaining trust and confidentiality while fostering a team environment
  • Organize and coordinate activities within the manufacturing operation / engineering groups to meet or exceed the facility and corporate goals
  • Ensure quality parts are produced and delivered on time that meets customer specifications
  • Forecast capital expenditures for improvement, replacement, or modification to production equipment and facilities
  • Develop, maintain and improve systems/procedures that align with continuous improvement practices
  • Adhere to and support requirements for clean room manufacturing, ensuring GMP & GDMP procedures are followed
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Consistently monitor machinery, processes, tools, and work cell layouts in order to recommend improvements that yield increases in profit and quality levels and decreases in potential safety hazards
  • Participate in the business planning process
  • Coordinate input from Mold Technicians, Toolmakers, and Engineers to determine cause of problems. Develop solutions that are acceptable for customer lead times based on tooling workload and time required
  • Coordinates mold revisions and repairs with outside vendors when resources limit available action in-house
  • Obtains blueprints and any other pertinent information that will assist in the mold revision/repair

Who you are (basic qualifications):

  • Bachelors' degree in a manufacturing related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a large manufacturing environment

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Experience with injection molding / medical device operations
  • Experience with external customer interaction
  • Lean and or/ Six Sigma certification or experience
  • SPC Knowledge
  • Cost Accounting Knowledge
  • Experience leading/supervising people
