Torch Technologies is seeking a Junior Aerospace Engineer to support a US Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) HWIL lab.

As a Junior Aerospace Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Process flight test telemetry and simulation data.
  • Develop simulation inputs and execute.
  • Support analysis of missile flight test telemetry and simulation data to evaluate performance.
  • Support the generation of quick-turn data products or briefings.
  • Develop software applications to process flight test telemetry, simulation data, and Optical Signatures Code (OSC) inputs and outputs.
  • Less than 10% travel to support flight test events, as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline is required.
  • 2 years related aerospace engineering experience.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multi-contractor team environment to respond to short-notice requests for data.
  • Ability to work independently to develop new analysis tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with MATLAB.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Software Development (e.g., Java or C++).
  • Knowledge of software debugging.
  • Knowledge of software algorithms.
  • Strong Mathematics background.
  • The position requires that the candidate currently holds an active secret level security clearance to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in the candidate being ineligible for this position.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Linux Operating Systems and Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • EO/IR Seeker experience.
  • Experience with missile defense systems, modeling and simulation, and statistical analyses.
  • Experience with Git source management tool.
  • Experience with exploratory data analysis.
