UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Systems Administrator to join our team. GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Systems Administrator plays a critical role in monitoring, supporting, and maintaining various applications and systems across both cloud and on-premises environments. This role is also responsible for completing daily administrative tasks including, but not limited to, Active Directory management, Microsoft 365 changes, and Virtual Machine maintenance. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Manager - Systems Engineering SUPERVISION EXERCISED: N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Responsible for the health and daily administration of virtual machines, backup verification, Active Directory user accounts, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, etc 2. Monitor infrastructure resources, utilization, and assist in providing trend analysis. 3. Evaluate and change monitoring thresholds, alert rules, and escalation paths as needed. 4. Assist with the management and testing of a disaster recovery plan. 5. Complete assigned project task on time and meeting quality standards. 6. Produce written documentation of technology standards and work carried out. 7. Assist in overseeing the server and network environment. 8. Recommend and help implement system improvements. 9. Enter and execute change requests as necessary under the change management policy and procedure. 10. Assist and support the Service Desk and users with troubleshooting of user issues. 11. Assist the other members of the systems administration, engineering, network, and security teams with projects and support requests. 12. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of controls for automated information systems that are either under development or operational, with emphasis on major systems. 13. Understand the systems operations and security policies and procedures for compliance with management policies, standards, and guidelines. 14. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count read, speak, and analyze. Occasionally lifting files, paper, training materials, machines, or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires extensive data input. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane. Occasional evening or weekend work. Rotating on-call required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Minimum of two years' experience in service desk or systems administration required. 2. Administrator experience with one or more of the following: Dell, Active Directory, single sign on (SSO) applications, LogicMonitor, Microsoft 365, VMWare, Windows, and Linux Operating Systems (RHEL preferred) required.
