C Technologies, Inc. seeks a Thesis Processor to work closely with and under the supervision of the Program Manager to provide professional-level formatting, editing, and publication support for academic theses and related graduate-level documents.
Summary
The Thesis Processor is responsible for formatting, editing, and ensuring the professional presentation of academic theses and other graduate-level publications. This role requires advanced knowledge of academic writing fundamentals, document formatting standards, and strong technical proficiency with editing and publication software.
Responsibilities
Format and edit academic and professional publications using advanced features of MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Apply correct grammar, punctuation, and proper attribution practices, and communicate these standards to authors.
Create PowerPoint presentations, educational materials, and webpages that meet professional standards.
Ensure accurate and professional formatting for academic publications, adhering to diverse citation and style requirements.
Maintain accurate records and manage multiple projects efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
Collaborate with colleagues and authors to meet shared program goals.
Produce original work involving editing or writing, including the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management and project tracking.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communication, rhetoric, international or public policy, or a writing-intensive field from an accredited university.
Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25.
Experience
At least three years of formatting and editing academic or professional publications using advanced features of MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
At least three years of communicating editing, formatting, grammar, punctuation, and proper attribution practices to others.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and achieve mutual goals.
Proven record of producing original work involving editing or writing.
Experience creating PowerPoint presentations, educational materials, or webpages that meet professional standards.
Strong recordkeeping and time-management skills.
Tools and Software
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and other presentation and file-sharing tools.
Experience with data-management systems for project tracking and SOP creation.
Knowledge and Skills
Mastery of English-language academic writing fundamentals, including grammar, structure, style, and citation practices.
Strong knowledge of document formatting standards for academic and professional publications.
Familiarity with diverse academic norms and multiple citation styles; ability to avoid plagiarism and ensure proper attribution.
Understanding of high academic standards and the importance of academic honor codes.
Exceptional computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and file sharing.
Strong organizational and data-management skills, including experience with creating and using standard operating procedures (SOPs).
