Fleet Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Fleet Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of company vehicles and equipment. This role ensures optimal fleet performance, compliance with regulatory standards, and supports operational efficiency through timely maintenance, accurate recordkeeping, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to vehicle safety and lifecycle management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Telematics:

• Work with the branch offices to ensure all vehicles are reporting, including pool unit.

Driver Behavior:

• Monitor driving behavior, report out trends using the alerts and the weekly score card. Contact drivers to discuss and coach proper driving behavior.
• Update the branch office & Safety when repeated unprofessional driving is observed through the alerts received.

Samba MVR Program:

• Monitor to ensure there are no employees operating a company vehicle that have not had an MVR run.
• Respond to alerts for drivers who have a change in their MVR status, which may affect their eligibility to drive for the company.

Employee IN-OUT process:

• Review MVR's for new hires.
• Establish new employee with a driver profile.
• Process outgoing drivers by terminating their profile.

Acquisition Support Fleet Services:

• Assist in maintaining acquisition spreadsheet.
• Create separate files for each vehicle and trailer (Each vehicle/trailer should have its own folder) and upload pictures and title copies to M drive.
• Follow up with the branch manager for any missing titles or lien releases, issues with telematics or other questions/needs.
• Toll account transition when necessary.
• Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

• 2+ years fleet management experience, preferred.

Systems and Software Skills:

• Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office, required.

Other Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
• Must be able to comply with Summit's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for long periods. Employee will occasionally be required to drive, bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, reach above and below shoulders, stoop, and twist.

Work Environment:

Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office or remote setting, work alone and with others. Employee will occasionally be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies.
