Shift Hours: Must be available between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (as per business needs)
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of the company to patients visiting , whether for routine health checks or life-defining health decisions. This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices and procedures. This position involves providing coverage at multiple locations and in multiple roles, ensuring the daily operations of Patient Service Centers, mobile phlebotomy, long-term care facilities, and in-office phlebotomy sites are completed accurately and on time. The Phlebotomist III - Float creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, demonstrating leadership skills and a strong focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all age groups (pediatric through geriatric).
Prepare and handle specimens following standard procedures.
Provide coverage across multiple sites as needed and step in to lead site operations when required.
Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource for new employees, supporting onboarding and training.
Serve as the on-site point of contact for staff and provide input to the group lead or supervisor.
Build relationships and collaborate with various functions (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, Logistics) for complex or high-volume practices.
Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Manage multiple priorities in high-volume settings while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA)
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
At least 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment (preferred)
Prior customer service experience in retail or service environments (preferred)
Basic keyboard/data entry skills
