Nature Of The Work

Safety Sensitive Position WC 7580

Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to provide supervision and management functions to wastewater treatment plants. This is accomplished by managing personnel and monitoring performance; performing plant inspections for safety and appropriate plant operations; ensuring regulatory compliance; maintaining a safety-oriented work environment; facilitating employee training; and completing administrative duties. Responsibilities include developing annual budgets for approval, monitoring budgets throughout the year, reviewing lab reports and monthly operation reports, reporting non-compliance for all collection and treatment facilities to TCEQ, preparing TCEQ annual sludge reports, meeting with customers, responding to emergencies, communicating with internal and external customers, preparing internal reports, managing capital projects, reviewing and amending risk management plans, and ensuring safety inspection compliance. Other responsibilities include developing costs for proposals, ensuring regulatory compliance, working with other departments, superintendents, and managers to accomplish the overall objectives of the Authority, and performing any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



  • Minimum seven years' experience or an equivalent combination of education
  • Class A Wastewater License.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record
  • Class A Water License and HazMat Responder Certification are preferred.


  • High School Plus Vocational Training - Obtained with advanced study or training past high school.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: 86,231 - $112,100 Annually (Depending on experience) This is an exempt position.

BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY: The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
