Job Description

Position: Quality Chemist

Primary Location: Tulsa, OK

Schedule: typically dayshift, evenings, weekends, and holidays coverage may be required

Reports to: UPA Lab Manager

Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000 + bonus + benefits. (salaried, non-exempt)

The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. About This Role and You

The Quality Chemist at our Tulsa, OK UltraPure acid production facility is a key partner in a high performing team, meeting the needs for specialty materials supporting the rapidly growing semiconductor manufacturing industry anticipated to have dynamic growth over the next decade.

This position focuses on initiating and implementing activities that drive measurable continuous improvement in Environmental, Health & Safety, product quality, process stability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in chemistry preferred, or science related field with commensurate experience

* Minimum 1-5 years of relevant experience preferred

* Proficient in wet lab chemical analyses

* Proficiency in cleanroom operations including sample bottle preparation, standard preparation, ICP-MS tuning, ICP-MS calibration, ICP-MS sample preparation, and ICP-MS analysis is preferred

* Attention to detail, adaptability, self-starter, excellent leadership and communication skills are essential

* Must be able to perform work with minimal supervision to achieve a safe, environmentally sound and reliable operation

* Experience with ISO 9001, RC 14001, or similar management system is preferred

* Basic understanding of Measurement Systems Analysis

* Knowledge of Statistical Process Control

* Proficient at SOP Development and Review

Responsibilities

Quality Management Systems - 20%

* Responsible for conducting and managing routine testing dictated by the quality management systems (including routine quarterly and semi-annual samples)

* Responsible for using formal document systems to report and distribute analytical results

* Participates in internal ISO audits at Chemtrade UltraPure sites

* Maintains chemical and laboratory equipment inventory

* Participates in Lean Six Sigma events for process improvements at UP facilities

Business Support - 20%

* Responsible for analytical support and assistance when troubleshooting plant operations

* Helps to ensure material released for shipment meets customers' requirements and is traceable to analysis. Coordinates release of material for shipment to customer with other departments and customers

* Supports marketing efforts by generating and supplying analytical data along with supporting documentation to satisfy customer pre-qualifications requirements

* Generates technical reports as required for routine analytical support and also to address customer and supplier issues.

* Supports environmental compliance by sampling and characterizing waste streams

* Utilizes and manages software systems to help generate various analytical reports and COAs

* Supports completion of required actions resulting from internal, external, and customer audits

Lab Operations - 60%

* Responsible for analytical support of UltraPure and commercial sulfuric acid businesses

* Responsible for adherence to Laboratory SOP's and environmental requirements

* Provides support to maintain calibration and scheduled maintenance for analytical instrumentation and equipment

* Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance on complex analytical equipment

* Responsible for analytical testing prioritization and personal testing methodology assignments

* Helps to ensure all lab operations comply with environmental and safety regulations

* Generates and validates Commercial and UltraPure COAs
