Electrician

Position Summary

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, motor, and mechanical components on standard and custom-engineered air compressors and desiccant air dryers.

Essential Job Functions

* Read and interpret electrical schematics for motor controls

* Perform point-to-point wiring, conduit installation (rigid and flex), wire pulling, and termination labeling

* Work safely with team members to install components in electrical enclosures

* Upload and download software for equipment

* Troubleshoot and resolve wiring and mechanical issues.

* Test equipment includes air compressors, air dryers, and related systems

* Apply knowledge of testing procedures and learn new methods specific to Atlas Copco applications

* Perform physical labor such as bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. (in compliance with company policy)

* Maintain plant cleanliness (sweeping, recycling, trash removal)

* Understand and follow customer specifications while meeting tight deadlines for on-time delivery

* Learn and adhere to current quality policies and procedures

* Apply knowledge of UL 508A program and NEC codes

* Follow OSHA requirements and apply SafeStart safety training to reinforce safe work practices

* Comply with Atlas Copco's "Safety First" policy, supporting targets for quality, safety, environment, health, and energy/resource efficiency

* Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

* 5+ years of technical training or equivalent experience

* High School Diploma

* Strong mechanical and electrical skills

* Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions

* Knowledge of electrical enclosures, PLCs, and lockout/tagout procedures

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, standing)

* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Technical training in mechanical/electrical systems

* Experience with 24V AC up to 5KV

* Familiarity with NEMA 1-4, NEMA 4X, and NEMA 7 enclosures

* Knowledge of UL 508A and NEC codes

* Manufacturing experience

* Experience working on customer specifications and tight deadlines
