Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Assistant - Part-time/Temporary for the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Supports the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, its international programs and staff with the arrival, orientation and graduation of program students and their families as well as others from international graduate programs developed.
- Advises and supports international graduate student populations with respect to their special needs (visas, CPT/OPT, documentation, housing, airport pickup and support, assimilation, bank accounts, motor vehicle agency visits, shopping trips, and arrival orientations and graduations.)
- Works with staff to implement a pre-programmed set of activities offered by the school during pre and post arrival.

Work Arrangement |
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of one year combined experience in counseling or advising students.

- Understanding of an academic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and editing communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of word processing, database software, Microsoft Excel, Internet (social media) and email.

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
- Hours vary being minimal at start and up to 30 hours per week at height of the orientation program weeks.
- Hours may vary during the day, evening and/or weekends and flexibility is required.
